Why does Outlook not appear on the desktop while its process is running in the Task Manager?- EeeKB

If creating a new profile solves your issue, you can return to the Show Profiles dialog and delete your old profile. If you try to delete or move a large number of messages at once, Outlook can appear to freeze, but really, it's working behind the scenes. If Outlook is performing some operation on hundreds or thousands of messages at once, it might appear to be stuck. Give Outlook a few minutes to finish the process and it should start to work again. If Outlook isn't stuck at a screen that says "Processing," or this didn't resolve your issue, continue to the steps below. Use the classic Outlook startup troubleshooter to diagnose and fix several common classic Outlook for Windows issues for you.

Some customers may experience a delay when trying to create a new email address, or alias, for their Outlook.com account. Although it's not possible at the moment to turn the feature off entirely, you can choose to remove it from your favorites list by right clicking the folder and selecting Remove from Favorites. We have recently received some reports of users who are experiencing issues with subscribing to .ics/ical calendars. This fix will also lead to a reduction in the total number of contacts on your contact list. We will ensure that all information is retained and only contacts with matching information in all fields will be cleaned up.

If you are dealing with a broken Outlook, then it doesn’t always mean you need to call tech support or start over from scratch. With the right steps, you can repair Outlook manually and get back to work in no time. You should start with the easy fixes, like repairing Office or turning off add-ins.

The procedure is secure and doesn’t lead to any loss of data. But little tools that add extra features to Outlook can be the reasons for Outlook corruption. The recipient display properties are changed to be consistent with the recovered recipient table. As soon as this operation is complete, other algorithms are run to collect all the orphaned messages and to put them in an Orphans folder. To start the Inbox Repair tool manually, locate one of the folders by using Microsoft Windows Explorer, and then Outlook Fix resource center double-click the Scanpst.exe file. As the process concludes, you can preview all repaired content across the platform.

Before proceeding to the steps below, consider backing up your Outlook data file. The Inbox Repair tool should also create backups before you begin the repair process. Whether you backed up the data file manually or with the Inbox Repair tool, we recommend remembering the backup location. In the Folder Pane, you might see a folder named Recovered Personal Folders that contains your default Outlook folders or a Lost and Found folder. Although the repair process might recreate some of the folders, they may be empty.

Visit Firefox support to learn how to Disable or remove Add-ons. You can also Sign out manually then close all browser windows. Some users may not be able to empty their Deleted Items folder. Some customers may not be able to insert GIFs from the Insert Emojis and GIFs button. If you can't open Outlook, or Outlook disappears or crashes, one of your add-ins may be to blame or you Outlook Fix resource center may need to update Outlook.

We will ensure that all information is retained and only contacts with matching information in all fields will be cleaned up. To check if you have received the fix, review your contact list to confirm duplicates have been removed. To help you get rid of these duplicates, we have released a fix which will automatically clean up your contact list. This fix will clean up duplicate contacts for end users starting August 9, 2023. Rollout of the fix to all users will take few weeks, so, some users may see the fix applied by the end of September.

Auto-archive, sending and receiving a very large attachment, or running some of the other mailbox tools can all be done in the background. Check the status bar at the bottom of the screen to see if another process is running. If so, wait a short time (usually two or three minutes) to see if Outlook starts working again. If you can't choose any of the menu options, type inside an email message, calendar event, or contact, Outlook may have Outlook Fix resource center frozen.
